Lavalife.com has become one of the industry’s most successful online dating sites by allowing its members the freedom to choose what type of relationship best suits them. As the place where singles click, which is the site’s motto, Lave Life has different areas of the site for their diverse mix of members. If a person’s only looking for friendship, then that member’s profile will not be available in the “dating” section, and vice versa. This narrowed field helps folks connect more regularly and has earned the site a big success rate.
With the three main categories of the site, there are also many search fields to choose from. This type of filtering system seems complicated, but Lavalife.com is one of the more user-friendly sites out there with a very clean interface. A lot of the site’s features are also available to basic members, but in order to use all the interactive features like IMs and video messaging, a full membership is required.
The demographic for this site is mostly the 20 to 40 year old range, and over time, a bad element has crept onto the site in the form of scammers. Any dating site that offers video features will eventually deal with the problem of adult content, people attempting to exchange adult material for money and other problems. However, Lavalife.com does its best to keep it clean and aimed toward friendship and dating.
The rates for the site are a little more expensive than some others out there, with a month costing $30, but there is a huge membership base and no shortage of interested singles looking for a match. All told, Lava Life caters to over 200 countries.

Like the saying goes, you get what you pay for. It's no wonder this site is free and although I had high expectations for it, it's a cyber-magnet for riff-raff, married people posing as single, the illiterate, attention-starved women from the nearest trailer park who try desperately to attract men with DIY half nude pics that show more rolls than a bakery. Oh yes, they have forums but intelligent discussion is discouraged to make room for topics like 'do men like BBW?' and 'why are all men such jerks?' The Moderators pick favorites, demonstrate no consistency or impartiality in their decisions and they perpetuate the belief that intelligent discussions are unwelcome. At least 90% of members are married or already involved, one doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. Foul language, lewd photos and even fake pictures are condoned. Yep, it's worth every cent you paid to join - oh wait, it's free. |

| POF good one way horrible in others
Plenty of Fish should stick to dating and leave the American bashing forums to other sites. POF is Canadian run and treat posters on their forum VERY differently. As a dating only site I would only rate the quality at maybe a 3 |

| A nightmare
The same 20 or so faces appear repeatedly in the 'your matches' section, making suspect the gargantuan membership POF claims. The monitoring is a disaster, as the owner of the site believes he can do it himself---thus thousands of men and women are submitting fake pictures, stats and availability status (read: married posing single). Members are encouraged to 'report' one another for transgressions, resulting in many unsuspecting members finding themselves locked out, after a rejected suitor retaliates. If you are into motorcyles, this is the site for you. Otherwise, you get what you pay for. |

I love the quote 90% are married or . . . whatever. Scientific assessment? What do you think? He gathered his statistics how? On all sites, there are axe-grinders. The bulk of these reviews are just that.
My review, some nice ladies on board, some not so nice, some deception, some honesty - no it can't be - you mean it's just another snap shot of real life.
Like all sites, but totally free, operates well, pick what you like and be happy it is free. Don't like it, not another astonishing nugget of wisdom - move on! |

POF is a site that has a little bit for everybody. Yes there is some riff raff, but so there is on every site. If you actually use the searches though, you see a lot of people coming and going. Or check the forums... you will never be bored in there... |

| Good for free.
This site is quite good for being free. I've been on the pay sites and while they are a little better, you pay dearly for the difference.
POF is not an attractive site, but is quite functional. There are some quality people and some lowlife people. It's mixed just like life. |

POF isn't worth the trouble of signing up. every time a user signs up and logs off the profile is never found again. i did this several times, referenced the FAQ, found nothing, profile was in accordance with rules, contacted the aadministrator, and still nothing. quite a frustrating experience. don't know how this is one of the top rated online dating sites. |

I joined this site 1 wek ago. made good contacts met some of the women..i agree women are not very upscale...but some of them were very nice. |
| Mixed Bag
I dont think you can really complain to much considering that it is a free site. I have used the pay sites, and have not recieved much better results. Dont ever expect a response from the administrator if you message any issues, and dont expect any reported profiles to be changed, or any complaints to be addressed. I know this from expirience. I think that it is entirely possible that the many of the profiles are not valid, or of people that have since cancelled their membership, because there have been NUMEROUS (and I do mean NUMEROUS) times that I have began some good correspondence with a potential mate, only to have them cease contact for no apparent reason. If you plan on using the forums, beware that the forum moderators (and I use the term moderators lightly) are far from impartial, and will likely deny your forum deltion voting rights if they dont agree with your vote. THe moderatos tend to run the forums based on their opionions and not on the posted 'forum rules' THe rules are really just a guidline and will be interpreted by the moderators based on their opinions and current mood, and nothing else. I suppose you get what you pay for. I have met some nice people here, so free seems to be an OK price in this instance |

The only thing good about this site is that it is free. There is no matching system so basically you just post your profile & hope for the best. Haven't had any luck on here. I would HIGHLY recommend OKcupid. That site is awesome & I HAVE had luck on there! |

plenty of fish is run by a guy named markus. he will boot your profile for no reason. he has booted 15 ladys and 27 men in the last week that were regular members. he picks on his members out of fun and is lossing members verry fast over it. not a cool site at all. |
