Free Dating- Should you Remain Friends?

Posted & filed under Articles.

It’s not every single day that you’re going to find a real relationship. They’re rare and fairly hard to come by. Unfortunately, even two people who felt they were perfect for one another can split up after free dating online.

That doesn’t mean all the love is gone. That doesn’t mean they don’t care about each other. It only means that being a couple isn ’t working. But what about friendship? Should broken-up/divorced couples remain friends?

Well, there are two ways to look this, obviously, with a yes or no – each having its own prerequisites.

Yes, if when free dating…

If there’s any real distance between you, meaning that you won’t “accidentally” run into each other at the grocery store or, heaven forbid, while you’re out on another date, then staying friends is okay.

If the two of you came to the decision mutually and there’s no bad blood between you, then it’s okay to remain friendly.

If you share any mutual friends, it’s going to a difficult time if the two of you stay at each other’s throats or on bad terms. It will thrust your friends into the middle, forcing them to choose, and it’s just better to remain friendly—if only for appearances—if you share mutual friends.

No, if after free dating…

If you’re thinking about joining up with another free dating site soon after the breakup, it’s best to just sever all ties for now. Maybe you can become reacquainted somewhere down the road, but for right now it’s best to split.

If you still live relatively close to one another, being “friends” can really bring about the mixed signals and will inevitably result in one-night hook-ups or a rekindling of the already-failed romance.

If there’s not anything holding you together, like friends or family or careers, etc, then you shouldn’t remain friends. You don’t have to be on bad terms with the person, but there’s no real reason to stay in touch.
