There are great pubs and restaurants in Covent Garden, including the oldest pub in London (or so they like to say). It is called the Lamb and Flag and has been licensed since 1623, in fact it dates back to the times of the Tudors though, so make sure you don’t upset the King.

If you’d like to stay away from fine dining and your idea of a great date in London is a little more relaxed, then why not try a cute little area called Brick Lane.

Over the years, this street has become the home to London’s greatest selection of curry houses. It also has some great bars and pubs, perfect for some dancing and partying after your meal. Be aware – each curry house has a person outside, who’s job it is to entice customers.

They will try and lure you in with special deals on drinks and food, so shop around a bit before you make your decision. After you’re done with dinner, try a pint at the Big Chill, or put on your dancing shoes and hit the area’s most popular club, 93 Feet East.

Lastly, if you’d like to take your date on something a little more culturally inclined, why not take them to one of London’s museums? There are a huge number to choose from, but the Tate Modern is a perennial favourite.

It is just next to Shakespeare’s Globe on the South Bank in London Bridge and always has thought-provoking exhibits. Added to this, the assortment of great historic pubs and restaurant in the area makes this a perfect place to take someone on a first date in London.
