Posted & filed under Articles.

Being a single mom is tough. You have to raise your child (or children) all on your own, the chances are quite high statistically that you will also have to work and on top of that you have to try and date as well?

Single moms should be lauded and praised wherever they go, because it is not easy. Finding love is hard enough when you are single, have loads of free time and extra cash to spend on leisure activities. When you’ve got to work, look after your kids and try and find love, it can feel almost impossible.

A recent survey shows the top ten cities to live in if you are a single mom and it is based on data collected where women with children actually had more chance of meeting someone than women without children.

If you are a single mom and you are looking for love, consider moving to one of the following places:

  1. Yonkers, NY
  2. Alpharetta, GA
  3. Newport News, VA
  4. Beverly Hills, CA
  5. New Haven, CT
  6. Schenectady, NY
  7. Olympia, WA
  8. Fairfax, VA
  9. Green Bay, WI
  10. Rockville, MD

A recent study undertaken by the very same dating website found that single parents in the United States of America are dating more than single people without children. The numbers are quite compelling – 21% of single parents are dating while just 16% of singles are dating. This is good news if you’re a single parent and looking to mingle.

The study also looked at other issues related to single parents dating such as how long singles felt was an appropriate amount of time before introducing their children to their new partner and how to let a child know that you are in a new romance.

Some of the more specific results of this study were:

  • Single parents are dating more than singles without children
  • 21% of single parents are currently dating, while just 16% of singles without kids are dating
  • 35% of single parents have been on a first date in the last twelve months compared to 27% of people without children.
  • 25% of single people would wait between two and three months to introduce the person they are dating to their children and when the time comes to make the introduction
  • 58% of single parents said they would make the introduction easier by having it on neutral ground outside the house.

As you can see – being a single parent doesn’t sound the end your dating days – for all intents and purposes it could just be the beginning.
